It’s innate, It’s inevitable, It’s me
“I am a dreamer, but I am more of a believer. “
God has given me different body parts that possess different capabilities. These parts are not just here to help me live by rather; I believe that each one holds a talent that makes me special.
I am Jan Mike Rebullante. My supposed to be name, John Michael, was shortened up for two different reasons. First, my Mother wants something different so instead of spelling JOHN as J-O-H-N she spelled it as J-A-N. My mother is not a Jejemeon and I do believe that such species does still not exist during that time. Second, Michael became Mike because my mother learned that most of my cousins were named Michael. Again, another effort to make my name different. Maybe my name moulded me to what I am right now. Someone who is different but special!
Telling the history of your name is easier than describing yourself. But it left me with no choice, if I won’t do this I have to suffer the punishment of failing Oral Communication. It took me some time to ponder on how I should deliver my speech but I arrived at the conclusion to introduce myself anatomically.
My eyes are here to help me see. See the different shows on the TV. A proud television addict, I believe that it encouraged me to take up a course related to media. Ever since I was a child the TV is my companion. The TV is my game partner. My father is working abroad, so no one taught me how to shoot hoops. So instead of being in the court, I was on front of the television playing childhood fantasies with Mojacko and Doraemon. If you’re asking me why is it that I did not make an effort to play with my male cousins, how I wish that would have been the situation. But I’m in a house with My Mother, sister and female cousins which could explain why I’m a little feminist in my actions.
My mouth possesses the gift of gab which makes me talk endlessly and the laughter box which could ruin peace and serenity. My endless talk is an advantage and a disadvantage. My mouth could always get me in trouble most especially with professors such as Mrs. De Castro. But more over it’s an ability that would help me succeed in this career I chose to take. My laughter could always liven up the mood but make sure you have your ears covered because my laugh is loud and not smooth. My joy could be found in very simple things. That’s why my laughter is infinite and annoying.
Feet to perform that were force by my guidance councillor. When I was young, my Mother would always tell me that I’m a dancer and up till now she still holds to that proposition. I’m not poppin or even lockin but cultural dance is one of my fortes. I may not be the best dancer but the knowledge I have about dancing is something that I am already proud of. Besides, Dancing is not confined to one genre only. So the measurement of being a dancer is not just doing the hip-hop but it is with the passion that is contained with your every steps.
Lastly, I have the heart who knows how to love. I have learned to love myself which is an important characteristic in order for us to love others. I have gained many friends throughout my life and I’m still keeping the good ones because I have shared a piece of my heart with them.
I believe in the capabilities of my body parts which makes me a believer. It’s not enough that a person just dreams of what he wants to be rather we should accompany our dreaming with believing.
I am what I am. What you see is what you get. As my saying goes” It’s innate, it’s inevitable, it’s me”. Sometimes, you don’t have to explain everything to a person because life is more thrilling when you find answers to your questions all by yourself. So if you want to know me. Go on and take a chance. Who knows we might find ourselves seating together in this roller coaster ride called life.
